Enjoying a grand and vast sea landschape where the natural laws are still in force? In the Waddendobber it is possible. The Waddendobber is a small accommodation for four persons shaped like a float, intended for living and experiencing a couple of days on the Dutch Wadden. The float is situated on a sandbank, which is clear of water at low tide. When the tide is in the float is lifted up by the rising water.
Cooking, sleeping, taking a shower, you can do everything. But you will have to work for it! Want to bake an egg? Then first 3 hours of sun. Take a shower? Then first heat a scarce supply of fresh water. The Waddendobber iscompletely carbon neutraland provides its own drinking-water. All kinds of technical innovations will be implemented using the sun, wind and water, invented and designed by students of the Hanze University Groningen in cooperation with the Northern Netherlands business community. After a stay of a few days you as a visitor have a clear insight into the possibilities and limitations of all possible forms of energy generation and consumption.
