Cooking, sleeping, taking a shower, you can do everything. But you will have to work for it! Want to bake an egg? Then first 3 hours of sun. Take a shower? Then first heat a scarce supply of fresh water. The Waddendobber is completely carbon neutral and provides its own drinking-water. All kinds of technical innovations will be implemented using the sun, wind and water, invented and designed by students of the Hanze University Groningen in cooperation with the Northern Netherlands business community. After a stay of a few days you as a visitor have a clear insight into the possibilities and limitations of all possible forms of energy generation and consumption.

The Waddendobber is a unique addition to the tourist facilities of the Wadden Sea. The idea comes from Andries van den Berg and Jaap Postma, attached to the Center of Applied Research and Innovation for Area Development NoorderRuimte of the Hanze University Groningen.

The designing process is in full swing. The launching of the Waddendobber is planned for June 2012. The exact location on the Wadden is not yet known.
